To fit in with rest of my website design I have changed my Logo slightly in Photoshop. I did this so the logo corresponds with the rest of the font and design of the website.
For the vector design website we have to create a graphics image as a logo. I chose to draw in photoshop one of the images tat make up the header for my blog. I then drew in a banner which holds my name. I really like this idea and will experiment further with it as this is just a quick mock up. I am more tempted to use vector design in my final website design now.
First we touched on the difference between BITMAP images and VECTOR images.
We got to grips with the basics of Adobe Illustrator experimenting with different shapes and brushes.I also downloaded a few different brushes from online at http://www.bittbox.com
I started to have a go with the different tools that illustrator offers you and how this could help me design my logo.
I am going to work on some other logo designs and spend sometime on them as these mock ups are very quick and rough first go’s.
I have included colour in one of my mock up logo designs to see what it would look like and even though I do like it it is quite fiddly and im worried about it clashing with colours in my photographs and being distracting. The Black and white image is the direction I would like to go in, this was an idea I had when I did my initial logo designs. I think the tulip needs to be more of a silhouette because it is still too much like a photograph and for my logo needs to become more stylized like a graphic.
After looking at Dingbats I tried out a few sans serif fonts I liked and played out with positioning of the font in relation to the two or four words. The colours I will use will be grey and black to keep it simple also so that if I use my logo next to photographs the colours from my logo and the photograph do not clash. I like how I have put the ‘P’ for Phoebe and the ‘L’ for Lettice joining into one another on the second image down, it is simple but makes it more stylized and not so boring with having just text.
Today I tried out different dingbats from the font website, dafont.com. I just played around with a few shapes I liked, but wont actually use. I do like the grey image with black font over so I am going to try other ideas using this design idea, possibly with Tulip I used in my initial logo designs.
My intial ideas for my logo consists of using a tulip and inserting my name ‘Phoebe-Lettice into it. I want to do this because I ahve a blog called ‘Fluid Tulip” – http://fluidtulip.blogspot.com/ so I would like to incorporate the two brand ideas together for my logo. These are just some basic mock-ups I did quickly from an image off google. I know I will use a sans serif font at the moment I am jsut experimenting which one to use.
